How I Found A Natural Cure for Pain Killer Addiction, and Also Nicotine, Alcohol, Drug and Prescription Drug Addictions

A few years ago I found a physician who had discovered a cure for nicotine, alcohol, drug, prescription drug and pain killer addictions.  Understanding the physiological cause is  a big part of the answer and recognizing how you can cure it is of the greatest importance.

Back in the '80s during my nursing career I happened to come across a book written by a physician/surgeon in England who was a member of the Royal College of Surgeons.  Now the book has long been out of print which is a shame.  It outlines the experiences of the physician.  She had invented a little unit -- a 'black 'box' so to speak, that she used on her patients in England including many celebrities like Keith Richards, to cure ther addictions.

She had applied for approval from the FDA in the United States but I don't know if she ever received it.

She outlined how addiction works and I have never seen it in the medical literature but it's no doubt there.

A simple explanation - here it is from how I remember it.

She says that when you smoke, drink alcohol, or ingest drugs including all prescription drugs and opioids etc., it suppresses the body's production of endorphins.  This causes the body to crave the substance that replaced the endorphins.

This creates an uncontrollable desire for alcohol or the drug of choice.  This is a completely physical or biological reaction or craving, not a psychological, emotional or mental craving.

She  developed her remedy or treatment program after her initial discovery.

She would take the unit that she invented and patented, and place  little clips on the ear and electrodes on the back of the neck on the proper acupressure points.  She would give a little painless zap to the area.  This would start the endorphins flowing again.  She would do this over 3 days or so I believe. She said it would only take her about 72 hours to cure someone of addiction.

She also insisted that in-house treatment of the addiction include a major change  in the lifestyle that had developed out of the cravings for the pain killers or other drugs.  This would be a short in-house treatment program. This would involve not associating with the former drug friends and associates so they wouldn't ease back into it again even though they no longer craved the drugs.  She insisted that addiction needs treatment of the  body, mind and soul.

She had many celebrity clients.  Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Peter Townshend are the main ones who come to mind.

A few years ago there were some clinics around the United States called the HERO clinics, I believe. I think they were subsidized by the federal government.  Coincidentally they were going to use acupuncture for alcohol,  drug , pain killer and prescription drug withdrawal. I don't know whatever happened to them.  There was one in Portland, Oregon at one time.

To me it makes all the sense in the world that this approach would work.  Just get the endorphins producing again.

There are other ways of course to release the endorphins. Laughter releases endorphins and anything pleasurable and gives you that 'feel good' feeling is a release of the endorphins. There are some natural foods that will release it.

I tell as many people about this as I can in the event it will help someone understand the cause of the cravings and possibility of figuring out a solution to one's addiction problem, what ever the addiction may be.  It should work on alcohol and drugs of all kinds that suppress endorphin function-- the opioids including Demerol. codeine, morphine, heroin, Darvocet, Percocet, Dilaudid, Oxycontin, Vicodin, etc. If you're reading this I have to say that much goes on in the world that we never hear about and there is a cure for everything.  I cured myself naturally of breast cancer, turning down chemo, radiation and surgery and Tamoxifen etc.  I chose a raw natural diet and lots of carrot juice and I did that in 1999 and I'm in perfect health today.

Pain Killer Addiction Book Resource

The name or title of the book is:    Hooked? NET: The New Approach to Drug Cure. Published in it's long out of print. A library in  Great Britain may have it.

The name of the author and physician is: Dr. Meg Patterson, a member of the Royal College of Surgeons; her office was in London.  I went to England in 1987 on a business trip and I tried to meet with her but we couldn't coincide our schedules.  i wanted to help bring it to the United States and start a clinic here. I knew it would help many people here.

The little black unit could be held in one hand. Looked more like a large old -style transistor radio or huge iPod.

The name of her program was NET which stands for NeuroElectric Therapy

From the back of the book  I am going to quote the whole page that basically describes the treatment and treatment plan.  I am quoting:

"Hooked?NET: The New Approach to Drug Cure  tells the story of NET -- a revolutionary cure for drug addictions.  In this remarkable book, Dr. Meg Patterson writes of the background to her discovery, her painstaking research and the extraordinary results, which at last offers real hope for addicts.  The treatment is fascinating and effective. Using a tiny electrical current tuned to various frequencies, NET ( NeuroElectric therapy) stimulates  the production of several body chemicals -- including endorphins, the body' s natural opiates - enabling addicts to any drug to detoxify with only minimal withdrawal symptoms.  Writing of her wide experiences with addicts in Asia and the West, Dr. Patterson also stresses the crucial importance of solving the basic psycho-spiritual problems leading to addiction.

Rock stars Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Pete Townshend, as well as hundreds of other ex-addicts from all strata of society and countries, testify to the success of NET.  With a worldwide drug problem of frightening proportions, Hooked? reveals a solution - if the battle against government apathy and medical establishment distrusts can be won."  End of quote.

Testimonial from Keith Richards: It's so simple... it's a little metal box with leads that clip onto your ears and in two or three days - which is the worst period for kicking junk -- in these 72 hours it leaves your system"'

Another testimonial: "Dr. Margaret Patterson has developed as extraordinarily successful clinical treatment for the addictive disorders.  At this time, I know of no other treatment procedure with as low a rate of recidivism (return)."  states Dr. Robert Becker MD, consultant in biomedical sciences, former director of research in bioelectricity, Veterans Administration Hospital, Syracuse NY.   He's probably retired now.

If you're addicted or think you are addicted or a family member is addicted, you can do anything you set your mind to.  But with alcohol and drugs, you must understand what has happened so that you can figure out how to get the endorphin production going again for yourself. You can do it.  I had to completely focus on curing myself of cancer. I had to first understand exactly how cancer worked. Focus, study, research; look for all the help, information and resources about pain killer addictions and also other drugs, prescription drugs or alcohol addictions, and smoking addicitons. There is an answer for everything. You can find the answer for you.
